Professor Nnenesi Kgabi currently serves the North-West University (NWU) as Director: Research Support. Prof Kgabi is also an Extraordinary Professor in the Unit for Environmental Sciences and Management at the NWU; and Affiliated Professor in the Centre for Environmental Management at the University of the Free State (UFS). Nnenesi previously served as UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Water Research for Climate Adaptation in Arid Environments, Programme Coordinator, Deputy Dean and Acting Dean at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). She holds a BSc Ed, BSc Hons and MSc from University of North West, MA from University of Birmingham, and PhD from North-West University.
Prof Kgabi has authored/co-authored more than eighty peer-reviewed publications and promoted/graduated more than thirty-five masters and doctoral students. She also serves the regional and international research community through executive and evaluation committees such as the Advisory Board for UNESCO Chair on Global Understanding for Sustainability, in Germany, National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) in South Africa, WaterNet, the Swiss National Science Foundation in Switzerland, Regional Focal Point for Africa in the World Association of Industrial, Technological and Research Organisations (WAITRO), and the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA).

Nnenesi atuou anteriormente como Cátedra da UNESCO em Pesquisa de Água Sustentável para Adaptação Climática em Ambientes Áridos, Coordenadora do Programa, Vice-Reitora e Reitora Interina da Universidade de Ciência e Tecnologia da Namíbia (NUST). Ela possui um BSc Ed, BSc Hons e MSc pela University of North West, MA pela University of Birmingham e PhD pela North-West University.
Prof Kgabi é autor/co-autor de mais de oitenta publicações revisadas por pares e promoveu/formou mais de trinta e cinco estudantes de mestrado e doutorado. Ela também atende a comunidade de pesquisa regional e internacional por meio de comitês executivos e de avaliação, como o Conselho Consultivo da Cátedra da UNESCO sobre Entendimento Global para a Sustentabilidade, na Alemanha, Fórum Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia (NSTF) na África do Sul, WaterNet, Fundação Nacional de Ciência da Suíça na Suíça, Ponto Focal Regional para a África na Associação Mundial de Organizações Industriais, Tecnológicas e de Pesquisa (WAITRO) e a Associação de Gestão de Pesquisa e Inovação da África Austral (SARIMA).
